Alternator problem

Hi I wired the alternator as described in previous posts following the diagram , the problem is when it starts the ignition light doesn't go out and the volts on the battery don't increase , the oil light stays on as this isn't connected yet , and advise would be great thanks

What wattage of blub are you using in series with the field connection?

It looks like a 4w tryin to find a lower one
