Handbrake lever position,

There's lots of Dexta handbrake topics, but not one that answers my question, wonder if anyone could answer, Am at the point in my restore ready to fit new wings, now if I fit the handbrake ratchet to the wing, with the lever in position it misses the bolt and locknut on the linkage , So, should I put on washers on the brake shaft to bring the lever and linkage to the wing (left) or pack the ratchet (wing side) to move the lever to the right, Im'e sure I have the right ratchet piece , and previous it had a safety frame fitted with the ratchet welded to it, Cheers Jim,

I made a spacer to fit on the wing behind the bracket and it works perfectly

Thanks Brian, In fact that's what I did, I had seen two Dexta's with spacers fitted on the brake shaft at the trumpet end but they didn't look right somehow.
