hi
can you tell me how to change the oil seal on 1958 dexta pto/clutch peddle please.
on some posts ppl say cross shaft and bearing have to come out etc and that looks like a big job.

i can see pto leaver & clutch peddle have to come off but after that i am stuck, can i just hook out the old seal then push in the new one.

any help is always welcome

thanks in advance

The whole housing and PTO selector comes off then you take the PTO lever off by removing the cotter pin. The shaft then pulls back and allows you to get at the seal. Watch out for the ball and spring that locates the shaft when it is either in or out of gear. Not a big job, should be done in a couple of hours.
