Do not know how the licencing system works in Ireland, try Pat Pawsey at The Ford and Fordson Tractor Club or Jim Wilkie at National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club.

Sorry I cannot help.

Right i have found out how the it works here now ,it was a secert the tax office dont
want anyone to know shussss, so ibrought an old book which igot with the tractor
to the tax office they checked this with their records, just the reg number and serial
these diddnt correspond,so i asked what should i do ,
they said iwould have to take tractor to nct/mot center give them 200euro get a new book
and reg, tax tractor ,job done , only nct is 8o mile round trip so have to hire a lorry to get there
and back just for some one to look at serial number another 100euro :(
they dont use the casting codes here no point i suppose just the seiral an number plate if this dosent match their records
its to vrt center , so now you have it anyone wanting to get their vintage tractor plated here

Bit expensive but otherwise pretty simple when you know how. Thanks for posting back and letting us know. Does that mean that you do not get an "age related" number plate?

brian cant confirm this yet but im thinking it s number will be say its donegal and
tractor 1964 well plate would be dl-64-252 same as mordern plates
only problem with me is they dont let local nct center confirm serial
which is 4mile frorm me but has to go to main nct center which is 40mile away
strange  this puts some people off and leaves tractors untaxed and without
books,
