lift cover plate

Post by sky blue »

i have a hyd oil leak on the back of the external hyd plate on lift cover,
i have taken this off an the oil is comming out of a hole on plate itself,
im thinking there is a bung with rubber rings in there which need replacing
and if so how do the bungs come out :scratchhead:

The Ford way was to put ball bearings down the port then lever on them so popping the plug. Another way used was to drill and tap the plug then use a small screw and pull with a pair of grips.

just an up date on external lift chest retainers or[ bungs , they can
be bought new[ how things have changed ]every part can be bought new except
the small lift arms on hyd cover , anyway replaced the retainers and all the chest
o rings its better to replace all these not just the odd one as they may not seal properly
and for the price they are cheeeeep to do. so leak has now stopped ,not a difficult job
to do , so its back to work :D
