Cleaning water passages in Dexta Cylinder Head

Post by malcolmg »

Has anyone got any suggestions regarding how best to clean the various heavily corroded water passages in a Dexta cylinder head and probably the block as well?
Thanks, malcolmg

Immerse in a weak acid, eg citric acid, phosphoric acid or even vinegar. Have a google.

I have had good results de-rusting with Bilt Hamber Deox-C, easy to use and gentle.

Send them an email - a very helpful Co.

Ok, thanks, will try having a go myself.
I was wondering about looking into some of these industrial companies that de-rust car bodies and also those carrying out plating processes, as both seem to have hot flushing acid systems for really getting into cracks and crannies.
I have used Brick acid (used for cleaning mortar off fresh laid bricks), very successfully in the past for removing rust from UNPAINTED surfaces on small components.
Thanks and regards, Malcolmg
