If the lift lever on the quadrant is jammed, it's usually seized from lack of use. Remove the hydraulic lift cover I'm afraid, and free it off.

Thanks for that I’ve already managed to strip it all down but I’m left with a shaft with one lever stuck on it and I’m not sure whether it’s supposed to be free or fixed thanks Andy

Have you a copy of the Hydraulics service manual?

What workshop manual do you have Wingnut? My manual which I have been trying to attach does not want to copy. However in my manual Fordson 1958 issue section 8, "Hydraulics spells it all out for you. Try download from this link. This manual is free downloaded from
www.fordson-dexta.de
Good luck.

I'm afraid that website don't seem to be active any longer. I'll continue trying to attach that section 8 of the Fordson Dexta 1958 workshop manual. I notice you live in Norfolk why don't you go and knock on Brian Dye's door
