Hi Members, just curious as to where you fellas are connecting your earth cable to the chassis of the Dexta? Would one of the bolts securing the battery tray be adequate? Shorter the better in my mind.

Hi Mervyn,
Thats exactly where I connected my earth lead to one of the bolts securing the battery tray. Just make sure it has a good clean connection.

Regards
Charlie.

Hi Charlie,
Glad to see you are home again with your family. Thank you very much for confirming the fixing point for me, I have no idea where my earth cable is so it looks like I will have to buy a replacement cable. I was chatting to a retired farmer/Massey Ferguson mechanic( ex UK. been living South Africa for the last 50 years) and he has offered to help me rebuild my engine if need be. But obviously he wants to hear the Dexta running to assess the condition. I know a couple of you lads will be saying how can you let a MF mechanic work on your Dexta :( :?: . Whilst farming sugar cane he used a fleet of Ford tractors.
Kind regards
Mervyn .
