Dexta engine recon

Post by freewheel »

Hi my first post on this website. I have a 1960 Fordson Dexta quite original but tired, it runs but needs an engine overhaul. Presumably it is 144 cubic inch, are parts available for this engine as someone suggested it would have to be rebuilt as a 152 ci. Which capacity would be the better option please?

Dear Freewheel

I use Emmark for Engine rebuild kits, I find their quality is good. They do kits for both the earlier Dexta engine (up to 1962?) (Part No EMK 100) and the later Super Dexta engine(EMK 110). Pays your money and takes your pick. I presume other suppliers will be similar. Good luck.

Hi Tim, where do EMMARK source their spares/parts?

The company that overhauled my dexta's engine used 'bepco' parts - they seemed good quality
