I have just acquired a Fordson Dexta in rough that I plan to get back into working condition. I ordered a starter, service manual and filters I still haven't received my manual otherwise I would probably know the answer to my question by now. On the fuel injection pump there is a arm on the engine side of the pump what goes on that arm and what is its function. My tractor just has a long zip tie and a rope on that arm. One more question is there another way to find the serial number of my tractor other then the data plate mine is missing.

Malcolm,
Your lever on the injection pump is the stop lever for stopping the engine, hence the piece of rope.
You tractor serial # is found stamped in the gearbox bellhousing next to where it mates to the engine. If you are sitting on the tractor it is at the left-hand side. If you look at one of my replies to a previous posting you will also see the location of the various casting codes. If you get these I can date your tractor for you.

Regards
Charlie.
