My dexta recently has gotten very noisy with the hydraulics and is weaker in lifting implements. Is this likely to be the pump(I have a spare parts dexta with a good pump) or the lift assembly at the top? How do I test the pump or is there an obvious fault that has those symptoms?

Providing that the oil level is correct, it could be that the suction filter is dirty, to inspect it you have to lift the top cover off.
