Perry bale grab - what is needed

Hi all. Too late for this year I fear, but what would I need to do to fit a perry bale grab onto the loader of my Dexta ?

I have small bales and picking up a stack of 6 or 8 (?) would improve the longevity of my old and worn out back

I haven't fitted the loader yet as I want to recon the rams first. It is a trip loader so no hydraulics

Is it possible ? If so, is it a big job?

Many thanks

The Perry grab is fairly low-tech. Attaching it is straightforward, I think the brackets are adjustable for width and pin size. To obtain parallel lift, a post/bracket needs fitting to the loader frame of the tractor, LH side. This links to a similar post on the grab by means of a steel cable. Ensure that whatever you fit is slightly shorter than the one on the grab.
For the hydraulics, a simple diverter valve allows control of loader or grab, and is best fitted on your left.
Six bales are much more stable than eight, and easier on man and machine.

You can just about see the cable on this one (McConnel) Image

Thanks Bob. That is pretty clear.
Doesn't seem too complicated . Currently I have an arrangement to work a log splitter, which might need to be altered in favour of the loader but I would need an additional hydraulic feed for the grab, as i understand it
