Old fuel filter

Post by leshby »

I just changed the oil and fuel filters on a fordson super dexta we purchased a while ago. Im slowly going around rebuilding it and making everything work.when i pulled the fuel filter out it is a rather old massy Ferguson's one. Im wondering if i can get an appropriate age of it. How can i add a photo of it for the forum to guage its age.

Try this: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5024&p=53955#p53955. I didn't think an MF filter would fit a Dexta, but I don't know what filters they used.

Difficult without pictures but I would take a guess at a Lucas/CAV 7111-296.

That's why I was surprised, maybe it is the wrong filter (as you say Rob the CAV 296 sounds likely).

Although the op did say they pulled the fuel filter out, I was just watching a Dexta on 'Bundy Bear's Shed', and that has a single cartridge/element type similar to a grey. No idea on the part no. for that!

Dexta's had both AC and Tecalemit filters, and there is a possibility that similar types were used but I suspect they're not the same. The elements might be interchangeable though.

Hi Leshby,
Did you eventually find a replacement fuel filter for you Dexta?
Mervyn.
