Hi folks,
i´ve a problem with the pto clutch.
When i do some harder work, mixing slurry for example, the pto clutch starts to slip.
I haven´t react fast enough, so i saw a small white cloud on the rear.
Is there a way to adjust the clutch or is the whole clutch gone and i have to replace it?
I hope it isn´t difficult and expensive
greetings
Eike
Adjust PTO clutch on Ford 5610
The clutch is an oil applied type in the rear axle. You could have worn plates or low oil pressure. If it is slipping it will need to be removed and rebuilt.
The lift will have to come off and the top shaft taken out through the rear cover. The clutch pack will then slip off the shaft and come out through the top. Discs and piston seals will need replacement as well.

Re: Adjust PTO clutch on Ford 5610
I just did this job on my 67' County 654 (Ford 5000). Easy job, as Brian says, remove the lift and you gain access to everything. Couple of beers and an evenings work
