hi just acquired a Ford 3600, can anyone tell me please , how the oil in the steering is checked and how is it topped up, jim,

You have a fill/level plug on the right hand side of the box just below the column join. Oil should be SAE 90W. The easiest way to fill is with an oil can and pump it in.
