A Nuffield and a Guldner increase the heart rate! A 4WD Nuffield makes it truly race!!
Is it possible to get ant detail from the Nuffy Franz? Like what front axle is it. It does not look like a Selene so it could be an Italian Cantatora. Or even a BMC one! If it was, we need to offer him GOLD for the tractor!

My father is pretty sure is a Bray conversion, apparently he has some stories but I'll spare you that...Brian wrote:Is it possible to get ant detail from the Nuffy Franz? Like what front axle is it. That is what I thought! I would love to see it! There were not many Nuffield 4WD. That one does not look like the ones I have seen and thought it was the Italian one.
Any chance of a private view some time Franz?

That looks interesting Franz, I had seen pictures in magazines of similar conversions.
The Universal was perhaps a better tractor than the Major but really needed something like the Ford sales team behind it.
The engines pull like stink but the design of the hydraulics, while pulling the weight down on the rear wheels, were not quite up to the job.
As I have said in the past, and Jos will back me up here, they are a wonderful tractor to drive and give the driver a sense of being "in" the seat rather than "on" it.
Very fast on the road too.

Fully agree. With the gas-handle at the left pulled till the end (Full trottle), right elbow on the mud-guard as the steering wheel is a little bit off-set to the right ... wind in the hair , smoke in the face. direct injection (no pre-heating ! !) Why has my father sold that red nuffy.... tears tears tears for me, but big smile for greta as that would have meant a 3'th tractor and no time to repair.
Rgds

My dexta has 32 Horse power, but a donkey behind the steering wheel.
