Skating this year Henk?

These were the scenes a couple of years ago when we came ove at New Year and watched skating on the Ijsselmeer.

The canal was solid ice in Franeker and so were the roads and pavements. No salt but the bicycles were still tearing everywhere.

Our weather map shows it has been very cold over there. It is the worst kind of cold here, wet and miserable.

We've been so close :curse:
The canal next to our house had ice from almoost 2 inches thick.
We need 3 inches to skate with a few and 4 inches for the whole village. Well maybe next year.
Luckely I can ice skate at the covered ice hall at Breda. We go there every two weeks.
Still making progress after a few lessons and clinicks. Even one clinick of 15 minutes with Sven Kramer.
Kind regards, Henk
