More Snow
This is the garden at 9.40 pm.
And a view from the back door into the yard.
My mother always used to say "If it hangs around there will be more coming to clear it up" and its been hanging around for some days now even when it has been raining.

Hey that's only a teaser for me. ) That's just enough for me to want to scrape it off with the old SMD!!
When you get 7ft let me know ) Then even the Major wont move! ;((
Now for my experience with GB snow. I was in London in Jan 1982 for the international model exposition. It was so cold then, that the drain pipes in the Hotel I stayed froze in the bath. The water would not drain I called the desk they said there was little they could do, it was happening in many rooms.
Then there was so much snow on the roads at Wembly hall, that when I left the hall, there it was, an old steam road engine outside pulling stuck cars out. I couldn't believe it. I went and talked to the driver who had the engine on display, he said he was leaving the show a day early because he was afraid the snow may get to deep. He told me he had about 20 miles or so to get the engine back home. As I stood watching in the dark he took off down the street. What amazed me the most that he drove it there in the first place! )
I had always thought London was kind of snow free zone! As amazingly hot as it gets there in July I thought it was sub-tropical;((
Grani,
I reckon you do have some snow, looks like the Major is doing a good job too, and your having some fun. Here it's colder than blue whiz, but no snow.

It was -32 degrees Celsius here the other day. Now it is much warmer, about -18 C. I haven't been able to take pictures of my Major because I don't want to start her. She lives in a cold shed right now unfortunately. I did try to start her a little while ago when it was only about -16 or -17 C. It took a lot of grindind with the starter (probably about 20 seconds) and when she finally started the air was thick with white smoke. The engine sounded quite harsh so I shut her off quickly. It was too cold to be driving anyway with the steel pan seat and everything.
Hi Henk,
This weekend we only had a few centimeters of snow.
But wednesday around 16.00h we had about 5 - 10 centimeters. That doesn't sounds to much, but (due to the traffic hour) it was enough to cause a
traffic jam till 02.00h around Amsterdam
Luckily for me the subway had no trouble driving.

Hey Grani,
That's pretty cool! We had 8 inches last weekend, I sure could've used a roadless.
What's the video about with the hydrualic lift? It was to dark to tell what you were doing.
I've got a 4 wheel drive kubota with a bucket, but it's a small one. It does pretty good though.

(I hate the possibility for everyone to look at other videos and pictures than the selected one. It makes the threads )
I have 2*110Ah but it is not nessesary to have so big batteries, i just happen to have a lot of them, thats why. The 590E engine starts easy with a single 60Ah battery if it is in good condition. I have a hoseheater so it´s warm when i start normally.Pascal wrote: What kind of battery (how many Amperes?) you have in your tractor to get it started in the cold?
