Grani and Pascal,
Those parts are listed as still available on the New Holland website. The numbers for the last ones are 508E6252E and 508E6252F. If you have a CNH dealer near you, you can see if they can order them for you.

Thank you very much for your reaction, JC!!

Grani,
Will you be able to order these parts with your CNH-dealer?
If not, please let me know.
By the way, your Dutch is great! :D

It is my friends engine and I am just helping him. He will try to buy them himself now when he knows where, thanks to You. I however did put in an offer for the whole engine when I was there looking at it today. I hope he will accept it.
The bearing had come out of it´s place and had been demolished by the first cam and tappet and one half of it thrown through the hole in the frontplate ending up behind the timing gears , and the other half was in the oilpan. This bearing have a partnumber 510E6261A Enfo
My dutch is not mine, it was Google.

Congratulations, Grani!
I think we have to call you "Mr 590e" from now on. :D

How many 590e's you have right now?

If you have more pictures of this 590e, please post or email them.
Very interesting to see the engine like this. Then I know what to expect.

Thank you in advance, Grani!
5 and a half engines? Wow!

Congrats on your latest addition, Grani. The flywheel looks like it's for a Twin Disc clutch. Was the engine in a boat or was it a stationary power unit?

One is for a backup power generator in case of a electical power failure. The others are just for fun.

It was a stationary unit. I don´t know for what use though. The clutch is included but I have not seen it yet.

Now I got the clutch home and the frame for the unit.

That looks like the type of clutch that we would call a Twin Disc.
We use Twin Disc as a generic term for that type of clutch, even if its not manufactured by them.
Its kind of like Cat means bulldozer or Thermos means vacuum bottle.

Hi guys,

Today I have taken off the head of my 590e. First time ever, that I took a head off an engine, so pretty exciting for me. :)

Image

Head doesn't looks too bad, I think, although the engine hasn't run for 30 years. The valves seems to be stuck although.

This is a picture of the rest of the engine after I have taken the head.

What do you think? Do you see anything, I should pay attention to?

Is it a good idea to keep the 12 rods in the same order of rank?
Or doesn't it matter?
With the valves it will be a good idea, I guess?

Yes there are two important things, one you should do and one you don´t. You should plug the nozzle holes and pipes to prevent dirt in them and you should never put the head on a suface without putting some support that keeps the nozzle tips from touching the surface. They protrude a little bit from the head and are easily damaged. I guess you have this thing ok. The rods are better to put back in the same order as they have been. That goes for anything you put back later.

Thank you for your quick respons, Grani.

I have put the head on 2 blocks, so it is not flat on the ground.
I didn't knew the exact reason (untill you just wrote me), but I though it would be wise to put it on blocks. :)

I will label the rods,so they will be put in the same order.

When you open the oilpan and remove the bearing caps from the crankshaft it is wery important to mark them so you later can put them back exatly the the way they have been. They are unique in their positions.

I have made some inspections of my engine (the one with the camshaft bearing problem) and found out that the crankshaft is machined to the first oversize and the connecting rod, piston and sleeve are new on the first cylinder and of course all the bearings. Perhaps the camshaft has got a hit of the first connectingrod and the the camshaft bearing has slowly begin to move out. I have put in the new camshaft bearing but it´s too tight. I have to do something about it.

Now I have got the bearing fixed and I try to put the camshaft in but it was stuck at half way. I measured the shaft that was outside the block and it show 0,25mm then i turn the shaft. I try the same thing with two others an they where ok. I polish one of them an put it in place and it seems ok now. The old bearing was propobly bent out from it´s place by the defect old camshaft that had been hit by the connecting rod some years earlier and then the engine was not repaired properly.

Hi guys,

On page 2 we discussed the use of the air inlet for an 590e.
I have found myself this inlet.
My plan is to attach it next to the hood.

Image

Grani,
You are doing some great stuff with your new engine!
It seems you have attached the engine to some kind of lift?
Do you have a picture, where/how you have attached the engine to the lift?
Do you have any idea how much an 590e weights (without the oil)?

Here is a picture of the attachement. I have the engine ready for test run, but I have not enough oil at home. :(
It starts to look like Fords assembly line here at home. By the way, I changed the title a little so it would better match what the thread has become.
