My Hudson Kiwi Crane for sale

Post by clubcard »

Hudson Kiwi Crane - based on the Fordson Major, and built by Hudson's of Leeds. Probably built in 1963/64 and was 1 of 6 only built for construction of the M6 motorway bridges. It is a vintage machine. Runs well and telescopic hydraulic arm works well. £8K ono

Majors are special tractors. We all know that. This is one of six very, very special majors.

I'd really want a steering wheel for that price, and some Empire Blue (so folk didn't think I'd caught the Lurgi and bought a  Ferguson)

You chaps are really cruel!!!!

That is a Super Major! At least that is what it said on the badges back in the day.

Could be very handy lifting Dexta engines out!

I should imagine it will lift a lot more besides Brian and will end up treasured in someone's collection :)
Like a lot of the other machinery based on a skid unit, the line of quite what is and isn't a tractor blurs in my mind.

No offense meant to the advertiser from here, just a gentle leg pull

On the fifth picture it is a bit mean looking, could also be good in the rush hour traffic.
