Hallo,
over here in Germany you do not hear much about J.J. Thomas conversions.
In the internet you usually find articls about 6 cylinder 2 wd tractors.
My question is: did J.J. Thomas convert Fordson Majors to 4 wd versions?
Background : I am offered a Super Major and the vendor talked somthing about a "french" Thomas frontaxle and dropbox only about 7 cm (almost 3 ") wide

Re: J.J. Thomas conversions
Hi,
I am interested in JJ Thomas conversion as well.
From what I have read during times UK Ford dealer JJ Thomas bought second hand Ford 5000 tractors with selectospeed.
They exchanged the gearbox at Ford for a regular 8 speed gearbox and put a 6 cylinder engine before the backend.
I believe they only built 2WD tractors. If you need any pictures, adds or an article from FFA, please let me know.
In the Netherlands there are at least two of them. One of them has a Schindler 4Wd axle, but that's done by a dealer in the North West part of the Netherlands.
I haven't heard of Major conversions by JJ Thomas.
