On the left is the control actuator arm. As you can see it has a worn area where the end of the position control linkage was rubbing on it. Does it matter? Do I need to weld it and grind it back.
On the right is the position control pin worn as expected.
I also found the control valve spring front cover slightly bent and dented. Will that need beating out and fixing or will it not matter?
Any advise gratefully received.
Happy Easter everyone.

Re: What I found when I took the top cover off
You should be OK just to replace the pin and smooth the surface of the arm. The ding in the spring plate may affect the movement of the spring/valve so check it out.

Yes I thought that may be the case. I will sort it.
Took a fair bit of effort to get the top cover off and a bit more to dismantle the linkage.
Many thanks

Having gone to the hard work of removing the parts, might as well fix them before re-fitting
