I did call him about 45 minutes ago and he tells me they are as is all rusty and aweful, I was tempted to buy them and hopefully make up three good ones from my old ones and those. Unfortunately to import them to me is unaffordable. Thanks all the same Charlie for the heads up its a bugger when our currency is so expensive. I have put some feelers out on this side so hopefully something will come to fruition. On second thoughts if none are available here I may bite the bullet.

Hi Mervyn
Could you get away with just buying a new nozzle?

Thanks for your suggestion Mike, I do have new nozzles fitted. The issue is that the one injector body or head is cracked and the othe two the nozzle nut does not seal off against the head part/body and leak around the nut.
I thought I had it made with Southern Tractor Parts over in the south of England who recondition injectors if you send them across to them. I obviously misread the sales line, "Exchange Diesel Injectors, reconditioned with new nozzles and needles". Please send in your injectors for recon. Here in my part of the world when one talks about exchange service you hand over your faulty unit for a reconditioned unit at a cost. English is a complex language :eyes:

Hi Mervyn
apologies I hadn't clocked that the bodies were shot. I agree with you, an 'exchange' means you send your faulty injectors in and they send refurbished, fully tested and working ones back. They should really advertise this as a refurb service.

I hope Gerald's offer works for you

Mervyn,

Hopefully the offer of injectors from Gerald get you sorted out. I spent a few hours on the good old internet trying to source injectors for you without any joy. All that I could find were places offering the same service as you had already found as in send in your injectors and have them refurbished rather than an exchange service.

Gerald,

Thank you for the offer of those three injectors, I was thinking about you during my search, the reason I posted my comment "anyone have any injectors gathering dust in the workshop" maybe not the exact same words but you know what I mean. :D . I think/hope that I have located some injectors some 3hrs drive from my home. I did send the gentleman a picture of the Dexta injectors and he confirmed he can help, hold thumbs. Should that not work out Gerald I certainly will take up your offer. Nice to have you on board again, I thought you had retired from the forum like a lot of other members

Charlie, wow that was very kind of you to spend your precious time searching the internet much appreciated,I spent about three days on the net. Paul from Agriline gave me Ron Greet"s phone number on Tuesday, so I enquired from him and he got back to me saying he did have three injectors for sale. However I must thank Gerald again for offering me his injectors, some time ago he kindly assisted me with the coupler that slides between the gear box and rear transmission

Mike,
No need to apologes, I collected my 2 injectors from the specialist on Wednesday and fitted them, nice to see that only the number 2 injector is the gremlin the other two 1 and 3 seemed to be okay, for howlong I dont know.
Once I received my invoice I notice something was not right the bottom line should have been much more than what I paid. As mention earlier it was a misunderstanding from my side or badly worded on the website. I have requested a reimbursement but todate had no response.

Thanks again gentlemen for your help,

Kind regards
Mervyn.

Good luck to your rugby teams this weekend.

Hi All,

I too have a need for one injector for my vineyard dexta, same problem as yours Mervyn, there is a leak from between the 2 parts and for the life of me I cannot see why, I've had it apart several times and compared it with the 2 good ones but still can't see what the problem is.

Once Mervyn gets sorted with his needs and if Gerald still has a spare injector, can I buy it from you please.

Hi Bob,
On my injector that is leaking there appears to be a fine crack/fracture alongside the one pin on the body side side that fits into the nozzle also one of the two pins on mine have broken off, that maybe a similar issue with yours the fracture I mean..

With regards Gerald's kind gesture, please feel free to communicate with Gerald I'm sure he will oblige what a generous man  . I'm hoping that I also will only require one injector, which I trust will be available as per my conversation with a specialist here in South Africa. I wish you well in sorting your issue out Bob.

Hi Mervyn,

I haven't retired, it's just that I don't log in to this site as often as I use to.

Bob I will see how many injectors I have and see if I can spare one for you. I will get back to you in due course.

Normally if there is leakage from the cap it is due to the mating faces being damaged, both the nozzle and the body should have a mirror finish as they are a face to face seal.

Hi Gerald,

Thank you, I will await your message. The 2 faces are definitely not a mirror finish, so I guess that is the problem, I think someone has been in there before me.

Mervyn/Bob,

I have a set of three for Mervyn, should he need them and one for Bob. I will test them to make sure that they are sound before I dispatch them. They weigh approximately 500gms each.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Gerald

I trust that you are keeping well and ready for your winter. I sent my one injector off to the local guy some three hours away from me who said he may be able to help, I did contact him yesterday and reported that he was busy with my injector. I won't hold my breath though. Thank you again for offering to hold on to your injectors for me, I will let you know as soon as I have received it back and tested it out.

Bob/Mervyn,

I'm pleased to hear that the injector arrived safely and is working fine. I posted it from our local Post Office using Royal Mail, I'm not sure if it was the cheapest but, most convenient.

Mervyn what ever you decide, the injectors are here waiting for you.

Take care.

Gerald
