I am going to get a Sentinel Steam lorry! Ann can be stoker! At around 20 mph and on solid tyres should be a good trip down to Winterwijk.

Coal is about £8.00 a sack of 25kg. I can pick up some good Welsh Steam coal when I go to see MarkP. All my relations on my mothers side were all miners so I have a little "ancestral knowledge". They were all small people though, my mother was only about 5' and she was one of the tallest. My Uncle George worked "down pit" from a lad of 14 to 65. His body was a mass of black scars. He also used to breed ferrets.

That's going to take you about three weeks out and back home. But with a caravan behind it you would have a lovely holyday.

But I think Ann would not be so happy and would build up big arms.

no matter how long it will take to get to Winterswijk, just do it.
Only avoid using the highways !

Do they fulfill the EU Norm4 emissions ?

They have iron wheels with a band of rubber on them and lots of play in the steering. I think the smoking ban throughout Europe might be a problem.

On the other hand Fred Dibnah drove his engine around England and even to Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE (or OBE, i can't remember which).
