Sirs,

Removed the top cover from the rear end last night, and my suspections of a diff lock was confirmed.
My 51 e27n P6 has a Darlington solid axle drive. Operated by a hand lever on the right hand side of the rear end.
It is not a diff lock, but a lock between the two large final drive gears.
Is this a common feature on e27n's?
Was this a factory option , or a aftermarket option.

Thanks
Regards
TK

Hi TK,

The Darlington Solid Axle Drive is quite rare. I have only seen them in a Sales Brochure. They were an after market item. You are very lucky to have this item.

Hi,
This is very interesting I have only seen a picture of this in the Fordson Major Miscellany - 1 book by Allan Condie, would it be possible for you to post some pictures of it?

Thanks Matt

There should be a copy of the leaflet on the board for this dif. lock. Barry from Aus. sent a copy to me and I posted it on here some time ago. Try a search.

Hello,

Very interesting picture, I wish we had the lock in our E27N.

The picture is somehow protected by the owner.

Best regards

Emiel
