Thanks Brian Lucky for us and these old tractors your out there mate. Just think of how many tractor lives you've saved.(I reckon we should all get together and recommend you for a knighthood ) Now back to saving lives,ok so I'll get a new cluch kit (includes everything I believe). If anyone has an answer or opinion regarding the the con rod question it would be a great help. Regards ........Dom [This message has been edited by Dom (edited June 30, 2006).] IP: Logged |

Dom,The numbers on the rods mean nothing. The rods you need are the later type with the large little end and they are a standard rod. They are the same ones as in the industrial and the Trader lorry of that age. The earlier versions had a small little end and the ones from the petrol engines are marked "petrol" so you cannot go wrong. But you must get a matched rod and cap. That is the important bit if you are going for second hand. ------------------ Kind regards Brian IP: Logged |

Now I got ya Brian,I have spent some time on the net and making calls hunting round for a replacement rod and matching cap to no avail. So I finally took the faulty rod and cap to and engine reconditioned for his expert opinion. He seem to think that the rod and cap are definitely a matching pair and he may be able to machine this back to perfection for $A35.00 depending on the tunnel size and the torque setting for the nuts. Would you have that in your box of tricks? If this one can be saved, he will also check the other 3 to make sure there ok too. Thanks again .....Dom IP: Logged |
