Brian / Anyone in the UK Could you point me to where I can purchase a new Super Dexta starter motor. I would much prefer to stick with the original setup of a mechanical lever to the switch that energises the separate solenoid. I have had the motor tested, & the armature has failed, but the whole insides are pretty beaten up so I would like a new one (if they are available). The Lucas Part No. is 26072K Cheers Paul ------------------

Thamks Rob, I had already called them, but I didn't get a reply. I called them just now & they have one going in for recon next week so I've grabbed it!They work on an exchange basis so they will have my old one for recon by the end of next week if anybody out there wants one. Get in there quick though, they go like hot cakes! Paul IP: Logged |

I have had two starter motors completely refurbished by the local Auto Electrician,at approx. £150.00 each. As far as I am aware most spares are still available, the only part he didn't have was the switch but I think that they are available on Ebay. Gerald IP: Logged |

For all the guys, here's an address where you can find all the parts, which are still available for the old starter motors. http://www.woodauto.com just type the Lucas Starter Code (26072) into the search form and you will see all the available parts. Try to order your parts there or through your local Auto Electrican. Good Luck. ------------------ Best Regards Stefan ----------------------- www.fordson-dexta.de IP: Logged |
