Can anyone advise me on where to start in my search for a remedy for the 3PL arms only raising 2-3". With or without an implement attached the arms just will not raise any higher. I am not familiar with draft control or how to use it. I think from reading other topics on hydraulics, the draft control is the push button type arrangement just under the seat on top of the gearbox. This button incidentally has been seized to the in position since I acquired the Dexta 3 yrs ago. I only use the quadrant lever on my right hand side for full lift or full drop so to speak. I use a carry-all, 5ft slasher, 5ft Jarret grader blade & inted to use a 4ft rotary hoe. Is there a common fault with Dextas that would cause the arms to raise only 2-3" or is it just a case of replace everything. If I am required to replace everything I`m guessing this could be quite expensive. I`m bringing her home on the weekend to attempt the repair on hydraulics & probably rebuild the motor as well along with ..... well just about everything else on her really. Thanks in advance for any replies Is there anyone in Australia who knows about these problems that I could call on the telephone ? BTW, great forum Thanks & Regards Morton ------------------ If it sounds to good to be true, It usually is. Draft and Position control are controlled by the little lever near your right leg, under the main quadrant. Up is Position control when this lever is parallel to the lift, Draft is right down with the lever pointing to the floor.Unless you are using a plough, cultivator or tipping trailer, you would be best to always use the lift in Position control as this give far more control of the lift arms, using the control lever. The button you refer to is the external services control or the flow control, neither will affect the height of lift. Try pushing on the selector lever with the quadrant lever in the raise position. If the lift raises it indicates a worn Position control pin. This moves round on a cam on the lift arms to sense their position. It should be a fairly simple job to replace but you do need the workshop manual to follow. ------------------ Kind regards Brian [This message has been edited by Brian (edited June 07, 2007).] IP: Logged |

Jos, Ther is no part number. If you need one you have to make it out of a piece of rod. Gerald posted details of the size etc. a short while ago.------------------ Kind regards Brian IP: Logged |

Jos,The pin is 5/16" (0.3125") dia. by 7/8" long. I have measured this pin again and can confirm that it is 0.3125" as there is information on another site that it should be 0.309". It also states that the pin is hardened, however considering the way in which it wears when in contact with a cast iron cam, I am doubtful as to whether it is hardened! Regards. Gerald.
