I cut mine off with an angle grinder. Stinks a bit mind! Just be careful you don't damage the metal rims. I then cleaned all the rust and debris off and painted with harmerite paint. It's worth doing as it make removal easier if you get a puncture in the future.

super brakes

Following on from my post on my jcb. After getting one of my supers in to work topping a field, the left brake has started to stick on. This had been a problem with my other super and always seems to be the leftside. I had the linings replaced and cleaned it all up about 5years ago. I will strip out...

It's the 4 cly non turbo, with a simms mechanical governor injector pump.
I have found the engine number, but need to scrape off layers of thick yellow paint first :!:

Hi Brian, Thanks for the reply. If they are bonded, I guess the rivet holes would be underneath, can't see at the moment. I have bought things off of Malcom before and he is very very good I will give him a call. When I eventually get to the rebuild, is it best to leave the actuators plates / balls ...

jcb brakes

I am doing the brakes on my 1977 jcb 3c II. Not sure if it based on a Nuffield or Leyland skid unit? What is most likely? It has the 4cyl engine with the simms injector pump and mechanical governor. I need to scrape off layers of yellow paint to get to the engine number. The brakes are very similar ...

I have managed to replace the pad, had to drill out the centre hole to get to fit. I have actualy used the tractor to top some grass, nice and long so giving the tractor some work to do! It hasn't been used for about ten years and performed without any problems. :D I do have some pictures, will try ...

injector pump drive pad

Hi The fibre drive pad / coupling recently went on my tractor. I got a new pad but the centre whole is too small. The engine is the industrial version, are there two different sizes of pad :?: I have slowly filed the centre hole and it is a snug fit on the auxillary shaft. After putting it all...

woodruff key size

Hi

I am after the size of the woodruff key, that secures the throttle lever to the throttle control rod. This is between the dashboard and steering wheel on a super major.

Many thanks.

knock in grease nipples

Hi

I am trying to find where to buy some knock-in grease nipples for my major.

I am not sure what size, but it has been suggested they may be 5/16?

Anyone know of a supplier in the uk?

Balls

Hi all,

I need to buy two hydraulic linkage balls, but not sure what size I need.

Cat 1 or Cat 2? I can't remember the difference.

The tractor will be having a topper mower or link-box attached soon.
