Re: Cleaning diesel tank
Hot/steam pressure washer, but be careful at the bottom they can get a little thin . .I usually find this works best & if you get the tank red hot it soon dries out.

Re: Bottom radiator hose
I would be having a look at the inside of the radiator, the most likely cause is that it will be blocked.

Re: my first major
This is a little project we did last year, it has a 5.9ltr Cummins 160hp engine. Worst part was getting the rear engine housing right. We also had to custom machine a flywheel to suit. Overall the tractor is only 8inches longer than original. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t301/wagger_01/tractor...

Re: Diesel pump replacement
Yes just turn the engine over 1 turn, at the moment you are on No4 TDC.With each 2 turns of the crankshaft the inj pump & camshaft will only revolve 1 turn. That is where the 4 stroke cycle comes from, suck, squeeze, bang, blow. Hope that helps

Re: Diesel pump replacement
You need to turn the crank 1 complete revolution back onto the mark, you will now find your pump timing mark is in the correct place. Camshaft & fuel pump only run at 1/2 engine speed.

Re: Jack - My Fordson Major Tractor
The side plate bolts are 9/16" unc. On one of mine I drilled them out to M14 & then tapped M16, using modern HT bolts & locktite, seems to have done the trick!! I know I will more than likely get flamed by the Fordson police but she ain't no concourse machine.
Hope that helps
