Help wiring up new solenoid

The old solenoid on my fordson super dexta broke when I tried to redo the wires for the terminal. I ordered a new solenoid, but it's a bit different from old one. On the old one I have two large and two small terminals, two large and two small wires. But the new solenoid only has two large terminals...

Playing with some designs for PTO handel remodel

As I have mentioned before I don't like the clutch pedal when it's in stage two for engaging the PTO. It rides way to high. But I do need to have it set up this way, so I can start and stop the snowblower. I thought I play around with a override system with a handle to make starting and stopping the...

Re: PTO Drive Shaft slips under heavy load

I tried to do some research tonight, and if I have understood this correctly the drive shaft for my snow blower has what in norway is called a smatre shaft. Smatre by the sound it makes when it release. These are set to release at different torque settings. Just like a torque wrench. Mine must be wo...

Re: PTO Drive Shaft slips under heavy load

Tror du det? Det ser ut som en helt vanlig aksling, ikke noe større klokke eller noe slik. Skal legge ut bilde etterpå jeg. The tractor and PTO works as it should. It's between the PTO and the drive shaft for the trower that somethings is happening. The PTO spline on the tractor looks brand new, and...

PTO Drive Shaft slips under heavy load

I have used my snow blower some time now, but last night was the first time I got to use it after a heavy snow storm. We got about 30 cm of snow, more in the parts of my Shark where the wind did it's job. This was the first time I noticed that the drive shaft would stop spinning and i heard this lou...

Re: How should my PTO work and how should I set it up?

Thank you Brian! I wish I had your knowledge about these tractors ;) I got it "fixed" today. All worked as it should, I just had to adjust the clutch linkage and change to the other hole. No I just have to choose between letting the PTO spin all the time, or operating the clutch with my knees above ...

Re: How should my PTO work and how should I set it up?

I have never used my PTO before. It has never been enganged after I got the tractor. But I have used the hydraulics every winter. Or don't it have to spin for the hydraulics to work? I might have gotten that one wrong  But I should use the second hole this winter right? So that I can stop the ...

How should my PTO work and how should I set it up?

I bought an old pull behind snow blower for my Super Dexta. And now that I have it on my tractor, I see that I have to set up my tractor to use it. My Super Dexta's clutch system has two holes on the clutch link. Until now it has been only set up to work with the transmission. I guess I have to move...

Oil pressure lamp won't turn on

Last time I was starting my Super Dexta the oil pressure lamp went out. I turned the key, it came on, and then it was all dark.
I have changed the bulb so thats not the problem. How is this connected and how do I go about finding the problem?

Re: What size is this fitting?

Replace might have been the wrong word to use, I need a second one, got only that one, need one for the other end of the line. The one sitting there was some shade tree mechanic thing, made up with O-rings and plumber tape. Think it has been done that way when an owner at some point put in a unorigi...

What size is this fitting?

Asmy diesel lines has started to leak at the fitting, I made up my mind to redo the Diesel lines on my Dexta, this I decided some time ago, but havn't gotten ther yet. No I have some time, and will try to get it done. I may have asked this before, but I need to replace the fitting that goes on the d...

Re: OK, I'm an IDIOT! School me!

OK, here is a pic. Almost the way it will be. Adding a pipe between the two top bracket eyes, to make it a bit stiffer, changing out the bolt to a shorter one without square plate under the rounded head, and painting it blue. But it's not bad looking I think. Now I only need to make it charge right ...

Re: OK, I'm an IDIOT! School me!

Yes, I think you are right. It works the way it should. I have the original lights, two working lights in the front, one working light at the back and some red position light on the side. With the old generator I could see the light get dimmer as I turned on more and more lights. With the new altern...

Re: OK, I'm an IDIOT! School me!

Good :) Then the fan sits the way it should :) I have the warning light wired, and it work. I have a 3 point alternator. And from the page one of you sent me it says that the sensor wire should be so that it don't have voltage drops. I used a very thin wire and I think this gives a voltage drop befo...

Re: OK, I'm an IDIOT! School me!

I might be on thin ice here, but I read a bit before installing it and what I got out of it is that a modern alternator can run both ways and still function 100%. The cooling wheel is formed almost like a turbine, and I took it for granted that it should suck air in not push it out. The engine run cl...

Re: OK, I'm an IDIOT! School me!

Then it's all hooked up. And It works great. It's does charge at 13.5v but I think that is because of a some what thin sensor wire and therefor the voltage drop is to much from the battery to the sensor at the alternator. I will install a new sensor wire tomorrow. For the charing light I reused the ...

Re: Back to the drawing board....

Yes, that is the page. But look at the price! I can't understand that a little bent piece of metal are going to be $45 + shipping.
I made mine for the price of 2 dollars and a half hour of welding and sanding.

Re: Back to the drawing board....

Yes, and I can adjust it some back and front using some nuts. And I offset it a bit to make the pulleys line up, as the new alternator would sit a bit back in the original bracket. I made it after this picture, but made it a litte wider to make it more stabil, and I was not going to pay 60 dollar to...

I'm not a good welder, but this is what I came up with! I'm going to sand it a bit more and give it some paint. It will do :)
