Re: cracked drive wheel
My theory was a flaw in the casting as the steel in the crack under close inspection appears black :( I only noticed it due it catching the diff/not meshing with the diff properly and that was when I was pushing it by hand in the workshop so no idea how long it has been running with the split in it ...

Re: Cant put her in low range help needed
I had a look today and found the problem :) the locking tab holding the retaining nut on the belt pulley drive cog came off and the nut undone and the gear slid forward off the splines on the shaft stopping the high range gear sliding far enough to let the low range engage :( managed to fix it witho...

The winch only requires 30 ltrs a minute to power it I thought a major could do this no problem? as I have seen majors with winches and other hydraulic implements on before

Re: Cant put her in low range help needed

Re: Oil Pressure
it would pay to change the oil to a monograde oil it sounds like as oil warms up it is thinning and the pressure is dropping I thought my major had oil pressure problems until I put the correct oil in now holds a steady 35 psi all day

Re: Power Major Tractor seat
I have the same seat on my mk2 e1a if you undo the small clip the seat effectively pushes back meaning when you are getting on or off their is more room and it avoids getting mud on your seat
