Mark, About wool socks. Wool itself is an insulator that breathes and wicks. Wool socks vary dramatically in their blends and quality. They contain varying amounts of nylon. About 10-20% nylon is the best blend so help the sock keep its shape when washed. Wool is cool in summer and warm in winter. U...

Kim, Not that I've done it but thinking laterally, you might consider "slinging" the pan from above? Block and tackle; gantry; crane; or even a couple of step ladders placed either side and a gantry spanning across the tractor. Edited out> I've edited out a comment about the bolts until I double che...

No Dave, Socks were wool/blend footy socks. They were a Gold and Maroon bands with gold tops. It never ceases to amaze me what the human brain can retain in there for a lifetime. That photo was 46 years ago and as soon as I saw it last night, I remembered the little black pattern that was in that gr...

@Kev & Paul, I didn't think the connection between my photo and your acquisition was all that freaky but I did just have a freaky moment myself! You said you are going to NZ on Thurs and meeting up with Paul (The Swanndri Guy). I have read all of Paul's posts in the past and never understood WHY he ...

When the Love Affair began .....
Hi guys, My first real love affair started right back in Nov 1963. I was 15yrs 10 mths old. My brother-in-law was given a job at Bundanoon south of Sydney to dig drainage ditches across fields prone to water logging. I had the opportunity of helping him for a few days. So this is where I had my firs...

G'day Tom, With your eyesight problems, I was wondering if you use Firefox Browser or not. If you do, you can magnify the whole page by holding down the Ctrl key and then the + key as many times as needed to get the size to what you can see easily. Using the Ctrl and - keys will reduce the size. I k...

I was thinking of our beloved Oscar when I read this article. Oscar travels by air, has a passion for his guitars and also composes and sings his own songs.........

Hey Kev, Naaaah I can't tell you that I even saw many tractors in my travels other than those in the dstance as we passed farms. Nor did I go looking to see what was available. MY focus was all about looking at houses and areas to settle. Next thing was catching up with family and friends I haven't ...

Ahh Alan. You have toooo much time on your hands ..... "photoshop"ing the text + emblem from the top and the subscript text on the bottom of the page. It's good but not quite believable! ;) The original with the image reversed is just one of many to be seen in magazine publications when you look clo...

Mike, I've actually tried posting the image here and it works. So now here is what you need to do. Firstly, the image is upside down, so you need to correct that first. You can do that on Photobucket. Log into your Photobucket account. Click on the image involved to bring it up so it is the only one...

G'day all, I've finally come up for some air so I can log on here! I did manage to view the board momentarily a couple of times over the past week without actually signing in. I read the comment by Kiwi Kev suggesting Brian might have come here with me. Further to his comment, I can say, Yes,...

Yeah, I know Kev. The "Bugger" ones were used here too. My wife has been using the term Bugger in Canada and noone has any idea of why she says it! *LOL* NOTE: This post is actually a reply to Kiwi Kev's that follows this. He edited his while I was posting an immediate reply and now it appears below...

There are pirated versions of this ad placed on Youtube etc. The best place to view it is via Toyota's actual website. When you go to this link, look at the top 1/2 of the page and you'll see Bulls Advert. Select Large. If you have nothing to do to amuse yourself, there is also an interactive game t...

Grani, I can't specifically help you about this particular "oil slinger". I have no experience with it at all. When you first posted about it here, my initial reaction was, "the engineering purpose of an Oil Slinger WAS to prevent oil getting to where it would be a problem." They were sometimes an a...

Good stuff Mike. Agree all the way with what you say. With that background, an easy way for people to remember about Multigrades is: Engine (oil) starts off cold and becomes Hot. 1st number is Oil Properties at cold followed by 2nd number when Hot. Mike.............. easy to understand Kiwi Kev See ...

Well I have been hesitant to have a guess at all. I understand Pascal's answer of Loader to be of the bucket style. I didn't think it was that type because of width and engine capacity. My 'guess' is that it is either a hydraulically adjusted "elevator" or "loading ramp". (An elevator getting produc...
