Re: Genuine Roadless Dexta

The original 4wd system was invented by Selene in Italy using WW2 Jeep front axles fitted to Ferguson 20's and the larger ones to E27N's. They built the larger 4wd conversion using surplus WW2 GMC 6x6 truck front axles. The axle used for smaller tractors came from the WW2 Dodge Weapons Carrier truck...

Re: EBRO tractors

UP DATE I have been in contact with the Ferranti tractor specialist who joined them from another well known tractor brand. The tractors were shown at the Smithfield & Royal Shows in 1980/81 and discussions were held with potential dealers. But no tractors were sold and they were all sent back to Sp...

EBRO tractors

I am researching the history of EBRO tractors built in Spain. FERRANTI ENGINEERING imported them into the UK, showed a 6125DT at the 1980 Royal Show. Who were Ferranti? Any help would be gratefully received - replies here or email me dinas@arepo.com Kubota bought the EBRO factory in the late 1980's...

Those 3 spoke cast iron front wheels are correct original specification for 1960-62 Blue/Orange Super Majors supplied in Britain,

The rear wheels on this tractor have been repainted at some time in its life.

NOTE :- the grills are original SILVER COLOUR !!!

I am no expert on Perkins engines. Maybe someone here has a P6 Major and can compare it to the close-up side view photo. Spain's vehicle industry was based on co-operation between the Spanish government and manufacturers from other Countries. The EBRO was a classic example with their tie up with For...

David, Thanks for all of the interesting information from Spain. I searched for Barreiros on the internet and found out that they were founded in 1954. This conversion had to be made after the E27N was out of production. I wonder how many E27Ns there were in Spain. Did they import E1A Majors into S...

I believe the 155 Series were built 1968 to 70.

The basic tractor is a Super Major, with MF 165 front axle, & tin work.

These were the first tractors produced after MF took over Ford's interest in EBRO tractor company.
