Re: Engine Dies after 2-4 minutes of running
Funny you mention that. After further experimentation I discovered that the engine was promptly dying after the tractor started overheating. I remembered that my last job before the rebuild was a full day of bushhogging. I discovered an almost completely clogged radiator. I sprayed it clean and remo...

Re: Engine Dies after 2-4 minutes of running
Oh boy, not what I was wanting to hear. I used the sleeve/piston kit listed here: http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/store/model_parts.cgi?SearchArea=FORD&&md=SUPER%20DEXTA&cat=Engine%20Pistons%20and%20Sleeves&r=mcats I was under the impression these were finish bored and ready to go but maybe I'm wrong. ...

Engine Dies after 2-4 minutes of running
Hi, I just did a partial rebuild on my Super Dexta b/c it had gradually been burning more and more oil over the last year or so. The tractor was in a running condition when I tore it down...it just burned lots of oil and required ether to start it. I just got it back together tonight after replacing...

sorry for the late reply...I don't check this forum as much as I should these days. To answer your question, the way I solved the fluid lock problem is not a way that I would recommend. It makes for a funny story though so I'll tell it. I decided to remove my injectors to free the cylinders of the s...

The new primer isn't a bad theory. After I installed my new primer I had a similar problem. I wasn't quite as lucky as you are though. Mine leaked so much fuel that one of the cylinders got fluid locked. I ended up having to install a brass valve in the line and I just make sure I cut it on/off as n...

Hydraulic GPM Flow
I know I saw it somewhere before but can't seem to find it now. What is the hydraulic flow for the Super Dexta?
One additional question, does the flow change as load increases? I'm considering a 3pt backhoe attachment that requires 3.2 gpm at 2000lb load.
Will my Super Dexta handle that?

Ok, I looked through the site. All I saw was where he bolted on a brand new clutch. I've already bought the new disk and the new seals. I need to know if those lever springs need to be replaced and if so, where I can find them. Any suggestions? Hoping to get her back together for some weekend work. ...

Ok, I verified for myself that the parts in my prev post appear to be the right ones. I was able to remove the clutch and get it disassembled this weekend. This was my first time splitting a tractor and I was surprised how easy it was. I was able to verify what Brian suspected....the rivets had fail...

can someone verify that the clutch disks on this page are the correct ones? http://www.waltstractors.com/acatalog/Walt_s_Tractor_Parts_Clutch_Discs_352.html Part #'s UF50011 UF50012 From what I've seen this is a pretty good price. Heck, I don't even know that the disks are what needs replacing...gue...

Hi, I did some searching on your site and found some ideas on what my problem might be but I wanted to tell the story and see if anyone has any ideas. I had been working on a pond dam with no apparent problems. I was at a point where I was using the tractor tires to pack some dirt so I would drive u...
