Re: fitting a front loader

Hi Alex, I believe it’s a later Horndraulic loader. The large belly bracket goes across the tractor roughly under the middle of the engine. Undo the bolts already there where the holes will align. The left and right main brackets then sit on top of the belly bracket held on with 3 bolts each side an...

Re: Dexta Hydraulics

I'm sure I read on hear somewhere That you can press the old pin out and press in a sort length of drill bit shank. Somewhere on here it will tell you the drill diameter.
Good luck

Yes, I have the live drive too. I suspect I may have oil contamination from the input shaft seal. Another job to add to the list :)

Re: Dexta Hydraulics

Hi Nick, the position control pin is a very common fault. You can weld and grind or replace with a drill bit shank. The casting is ok to file smooth. If it doesn’t lift in position or draft control, it could be linkage, piston seal or pump. Section 8 page 24 for diagnostics. There is a good dvd from...

Re: PTO grinding

Sounds like your pto clutch is sticking. Mine does it a lot. Eventually I will no doubt have to split the tractor and service/change the clutch. For now, I raise the topper, kill the engine, engage the pto, start the engine and lower the topper. It's a bit of a faff. If you don’t raise the topper it...

Re: How do you measure rear axle shaft end float.

Hi Mervyn, Sorry if this is too late to help you but it may help others. Mike at www.tractormec.co.uk has a series of DVDs on restoring a Dexta. In the drum brake dvd he also replaces the rear axle oil seals. As part of that he shows a couple of methods of checking the end float. Basically he wedges...

Re: How to remove Hydraulic Lift Arms from splined shaft

I had a hard time getting my steering arms off their splined shafts. Eventually I got a pitman arm puller and impact gun, worked a treat.
Good luck

Re: Steering Gear Box

If you mean the drop arm seals, they are easy to change if you have the drop arms off. Drill a small hole in the seal, insert a self tapping screw and pull the seal out. Smear of grease and replace with new seal. Drive in with suitable pipe. I used the inside tube from an axle stand. I had to get th...

Well done alang that looks good. Did it need a return into the top cover filling cap or not?
Are they pricey?

Yes I thought that may be the case. I will sort it.
Took a fair bit of effort to get the top cover off and a bit more to dismantle the linkage.
Many thanks

What I found when I took the top cover off

http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab107/johnmcm01/image.jpg1_zpsgfqf8wlv.jpg [/img] On the left is the control actuator arm. As you can see it has a worn area where the end of the position control linkage was rubbing on it. Does it matter? Do I need to weld it and grind it back. On the right...

Hi Spike. Sorry to plug these videos again but they are nothing to do with me. In the drum brake video he covers changing the rear hub oil seal and wheel bearing. This bit is previewed on youtube at about 4 mins.
Hope that helps

The bushes are very thin. You can tap a screwdriver down behind it to destroy it and lever it out. I used Agrilline replacements which did not need reaming.
Good luck
