Brian,
Here is a shot from a local machinery auction a couple of years ago.
Are you sure this should be happening?
There are 3 more photos on photobucket if you follow the link.
Apologies to all,
Les

Great looking booklet!

Would really appreciate one.

Sounds good Brian,
I do need another carb kit.
Maybe I was worrying too much.... hope it's only the shaft that's worn here too.

Hi Islander, Welcome to the board. Lots of great guys here and great help. Nice to see a fellow Canadian and one with a Petrol Dexta! Brian, I could use a little help with installing the carb kit. What did you use to enlarge the carb throttle shaft holes for the plastic bearing inserts? Drill bit, r...

Re: Pistons and piston ring end gaps
Hi, When the Fordson manual states 'the stamped numbers together' I take it to mean both the cap and rod numbers are to be on the same side. But don't know why they would be different than Perkins (or most others for that matter). Wonder how they are positioned on the Major engines? We have a Super ...

Re: SD Tacho -- clockwise or anticlockwise?
Hi Chris, Dexta and Super Dextas rotate counterclockwise unless the block/engine had been replaced by one from those other guys which are driven from the end of the camshaft as opposed to the end of the Simms injecton pump. Petrol Dexta tachs rotate clockwise so hang on to it if it is an original! (...

Re: Pistons and piston ring end gaps
Hi, I found the same end larger end gap on new rings for our Super Dexta!? (Also checked at the bottom of the bore that was even on the smaller side of the allowances.) Frustrating as I got the rings from the local NH dealer even though they were nearly 3X as much as aftermarket. (Thought they had m...

Re: Gear levers stuck
Stunning photos Ben! Congratulations on the Dexta. Looks so good! I think it was Brian who suggested running a bit with diesel in the cases to wash things out. I did that and it came out quite discoloured but did not have a peek inside after that. Always was interested in finding some way filtering ...

World Plowing Championship
Hi,
Little late for this post but.... was anyone from the forum heading out to the plowing championship at Olds, Alberta, Canada this weekend (19/20 July.)
It's just 1 1/2 hours drive from here so, if the bovine are agreeable, thought I might get a chance to take it in for a day.

Re: Setting up Remote Hydraulics for Super Dexta
Hey Rocketsled, Welcome and congratulations on your Super Dexta! I think, the Dextas and Majors had their own DAR (double acting remote) and although valves from other models will bolt right on, the porting is slightly different so they do not work properly. Would be most happy to hear differently t...

Hi,
Yes, our 1962 Super Dexta had them and the outline where they were is still just visible.
The ones in the links are very close but I can't say if they are exactly the same.

Edit....From a parts book> E1ADDN-763 (From 10/60 to 11/62 for Dexta and Super Dexta)

Re: Anyone Have A Dexta later than 1961 In The U.S.?
Hi Bill, Good idea to start a new thread. I checked some of the old Ford U.S. brochures and ads but don't see both the diesel Dexta and Super Dexta (Ford 2000 Super Dexta) offered at the same time. There is an ad with both the Ford 2000 Super Dexta and Ford 2000 (Looks like a new designation for the...

Welcome to the board Kevin, Where are you located? 24" tires were an option and seem to be more common here in North America, atleast from '62 onwards. Tach is different from our '62 Super Dextas. Ours have AC ones with the hours at the bottom and go up to 26 (X100revs) on the dial. Orange grills on a Super Dexta? No holes on the 24" rims that we have either... although our 28" centres have them....but that maybe is just for over here. Very fine re...
