Hydraulic pump test port threads?

Would anyone know offhand what the threads are on the Dexta/Super Dexta test port that comes out of the pump housing by the brake pedals?

Thanks,
Les

Don, What a great set of photos! Look forward to more! roromac wrote: That looks to me like an unmolested tractor. You look to have one the rare double-acting hydraulic valves fitted. Greg,
Congratulations on your purchase and finding this great forum! It's been most helpful to myself and others.

Brian,
Was not the 1st Petrol Dexta assembled Nov/60 rather than Nov/61?

Ben,

All the parts books I have show just the one cover or housing (957E-501-B) available for all Dextas so I would expect them to be the same.

Wonder what the valve in the 2nd photo is from?
Doesn't look like a DAR, Dual Auxillary Service or the standard remote control valve?

That's great news!
I have been considering a snowblower but was also concerned how much a Dexta could handle.
What make and model did you settle on?

Trigger,
Ours had them too but they wore or peeled off over 35 years ago.
From what I can remember, they had some orange on them with maybe white/blue pinstriping and lettering that said something like "Live Drive". (I suppose advertising the live pto?)
Cold here too!

Welcome from next door. I think Brian is bang on with your serial number. (09B723655) We have an August Super Dexta with 09B719212 for a serial nuimber and 1605839 on the engine. It came painted blue with orange rims and silver grills. There should be another date code on back, bottom left (oops! th...

Hi Grani,

Ben has a somewhat similar problem with a J in the date code on the Dexta forum under 'Ben's Dexta-2'.
He has "22J4" on a Dexta axle which also doesn't fit either chart?

Terry,
That's a nice unit. Where did you find it?
I checked the filter element (E1ADDN-91662C) that I have waiting for a New Performance Super Dexta :)
It is just as you described the Fram with orange rubber top and bottom and the 3 slots in the bottom.

Terry, It appears (from a couple of internet sites) the Fram filter element 11893 (actually CCS118963) was discontinued in 2006 but I can find no description of it or cross it over. I think it was also used on the1966 Versatile D100 with a Ford diesel engine but the cross references are confusing. (...

Hi Jeff, From the parts lists I have: Looks like there were 2 types of oil filter heads and canisters used throughout>>AC and Tacalemit. Both, however, used the same filter element 957E-6731 and large sealing ring where the canister meets the head. The upper and lower square type o-rings around the ...

Jeff, The Wix oil filter # is 51188 which crosses to NAPA 1188. (Googled both Wix and NAPA filters and then Filter look up) Interesting that both NAPA and Wix use the same data base search, both spell Dexta "Dextra" and their part #'s are nearly the same?) Are they connected? Cheers, Les PS Snowing ...

Hi Brian, I meant using the engine serial numbers for estimating the number of petrol Dextas. One source stated that the first petrol Dexta (7Nov/60) had FPL27E for the engine # with 68751 for the serial number. Now when I checked my notes, I found I had recorded one with FPL4427E as an engine numbe...

Brian, I jotted down some of the codes from a '63 Gas (Petrol) Dexta that I was drooling over about 18 months ago. It sold before I could raise the funds or enough interest within the family. It had only 2800 hours on it and had been shedded all it's life and it seemed a crime when the seller (2nd o...

Hi, From what I have read, mostly on this site, here are a few possiblities: The engine number is 957 47771 Is this number running vertically on the left side of the clutch housing flange where it joins the engine? If so it would be the serial number, might have an E after the 957 and would be assem...

Thanks Aldo,

For for the photos and description!

In the early '70s when we had our first large round bales (1200#) on the back, the steering was really easy!
Dad had to use the wheel brakes to steer!
Even put fluid in the front tires to help keep the front end down!

Aldo, I am interested in how your power steering works. What equipment was the ram originally on? And did you add another pump for the hydraulics or tap into the Dexta's system?
