Not tried yet but basically been told a super 6 has the belt, pump and fan 1 inch more forward and the side rails are 11" longer to allow this because the rubber damper on the main belt pulley but ive just about finished mine e...

Want something that will keep the hand throttle seperate, have b...

Re: implements for dexta
hi as regards pulling ihave had 2 1/2 ton of sand on plus the trailer weight and it pulled no bother on the flat on the road, when it came to hills ihad to drop down to 3 low. ithink the proper way to work it out is twice the weight of the tractor roughly one and ahalf ton that gives max 3ton,inclu...

Re: implements for dexta
I tried a few months ago to rotovate the garden using my 1960 dexta and kuhn 9 foot rotovator, I would go forward 6inch then stop to let it rev up again (nearly stall) and repeat. We tried dad's mk 2 major the next day to finish it off but it was basically the same but with much more smoke  , t...

Re: Dexta project
Don't worry about the exhaust in my experience factory paint peels/burns off at tick over (probably ordinary paint ) , I just grind them back to bare metal and spray them with silver heat resistant paint (carplan at the moment ) it'll last year's running at full throttle all the time

Re: Fordson Dexta Handbrake Button
The rubber coated bearings out of an old pto pressure washer are the same size and most farms years ago kept spares that are hidden away in old tins so you might get one for free. Just drill a hole roughly half way through and put some instant gasket in the hole and pop it on. Then sit back and admi...

Re: Fordson dexta engine conversion?
I was thinking of putting a bigger engine In a dexta one day. The engines id think would work would be a small 4 cylinder turbo perkins like fitted to jcb robots which would be a bit longer than original engine but will push out about double the HP or a small v6 which in theory should be same length...
