Re: Site closure announcement

The last day of operation is May 9th, 2018.

Two members have contacted me and expressed interest to take over the site. We're talking in the background. It's a big step to take. Don't expect the site to remain, but there is some hope. I'll keep you informed.

Best regards,
Oscar

Re: Site closure announcement

@Henk: thanks! It's a difficult decision. But let's celebrate the long life of this website instead of mourning its passing.

@Mathias1: I'll send you a PM.

Best regards,
Oscar

Site closure announcement

Dear Fordson Friends, All things must end. For this website, the end comes in May 2018. I started this site in the late '90s. Back then, there was a need for it. Much to my surprise, for Fordson owners around the world the site became "an online home", so to speak. People who had never been in conta...

Re: News from Down Under

We're not jaleous at all Brian, really. I mean, who'd want to ride Puffing Billy and taste wine? :buddies: Garretts are mostly seen in Africa and some other hilly areas of the Commonwealth with narrow-gauge track and tight curves. There's a line in Wales that operates Garretts, if I recall correctly...

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Appreciated. Peter, I'll keep a look out for potential errors. Really fixing them might be beyond my skill level, but I'll do what I can.

Nov 24/2015: We're ba-ack!

Hi everyone, I'm very sorry for the sudden disappearance of the forum! My apologies. In the background some upgrades were done on the MySQL database, which led to a compatibility issue with the PHP software. With the help of our hosting provider, we managed to upgrade the PHP version and fix a few i...

Dear FordsonTractorPages friend, When I started this website back in the '90s, I never expected it to last this long. That it is still here, 20-odd years later, signifies how many people worldwide still bond with Fordson tractors! Over the years I've seen lasting friendships develop between people w...

Re: Kids, cats and squirrels (help needed)

:D Nice picture, do you get Bats hanging around in buildings and trees or is this the wrong time of year? :scratchhead: TSG. I saw plenty of flying dogs in Oz, even in central Sydney. You won't find them here. There are bats, but much smaller than the ones I saw in Oz. In the summer, they fly aroun...

Re: Kids, cats and squirrels (help needed)

As for the cats, here they are after hijacking our grocery crate. They occupy the crate when we can't let them into the house. The crate is in the front yard, which is OK. The photo is poor because it was taken through the window.

Oscar can we get some pictures please?, no not the cats but the Squirrels, we don't have them down here in New Zealand! We do have something slightly similar and definitely not as cute from Australia :scratchhead: :eyes: TSG. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/538394_3...

Re: Kids, cats and squirrels (help needed)

Today we went out for dinner, on foot. The two cats followed us all the way. We tried to shake them off, but whenever they lost sight of us they started mi-ow'ing in the most heart-rendering way. Touching, but we also felt a bit smothered. Eventually we turned back, because they were crossing more a...

Re: Kids, cats and squirrels (help needed)

"Our" squirrels are the indiginous red ones. They're smaller and less muscular than the grey squirrels. As for the cats, they really are adorable but I wish there was a way to keep them out of the back yard (the front yard is OK, because the squirrels don't come there). I'm considering the primitive...

Kids, cats and squirrels (help needed)

All, And now for something completely different :D . We've got wild squirrels in our back yard and we love to have them there. They're beautiful. But some time ago, a few houses down the street, someone bought 2 young cats. The kids love those cats, because they're really cute and they come for a cu...

Re: Fixing an old Krone 3500 harvester

Hi Pascal, I did not take a picture of the whole thing, but if you Google for Krone 3500 you'll see a gazillion of them. The picture I posted is how it looked after we took the covers off, so we hadn't really begun yet. This is how it came off the field! It was running so hot that the grass almost c...

Fixing an old Krone 3500 harvester

Was asked to lend a hand to fix this: http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/temp/krone.jpg This is (or rather: was) the main bearing of the shaft that drives the harvester's grass pick-up and transport system. It literally burned/grinded itself away. Working on these old Krone harvesters is not a pleasa...
