Thanks for the heads up with regards the spring and ball, unfortunately they were non existent . With regards to the strange knob my plan is either to grind the weld using a Dremel or a small lathe. Failing that I will contact the lads down at Agriline to see what they have.

Thank you Sandy for going the extra mile to post those photos. The original rubber on Davie is a great example. What I need to do now is take some measurements off my unit and see how close I can get to sourcing a boot locally, the chances are very slim though but worth a try.

Thanks for your input Folk. I have ordered a gasket plus a knob from Histoparts and hopefully won't wait too long for them. With regards the o rings my plan is to take the remote control valve unit off and take it to a local seals and bearing supplier and see if they can help me.

Mathias, not a bad idea, one of our old timers uses a old duvet cover on a Farmall 100, keeps the dust off .
