Re: Did I kill the engine???
No I havent been using either, Ive got a excellent coolant heater that makes starting in the winter quite easy. So I did kill the engine :( , not a good day at all. It looks like I wont be able to fix up the motor because of time restraints and the fact I have way too many other things on the go. It...

Did I kill the engine???
Good Day Need some input on this one : I was out today clearing the snow from the driveway with the Dexta, Ive got a front end loader on mine and I use it for moving the snow. I have been using the Dexta for years for this purpose and it works great. Today when I was out I noticed at one point that ...

As far as the make goes, I was told it was a ford snowblower? It has been painted before but it is in quite good shape. The gear box was clean and the gear drive was in good order. It has a hydraulic chute which is really nice. I just disconnected the hydraulics from the front end loader and use the...

Actually I did pick up a 7 foot single auger dual stage blower. It works extremely well on the dexta, the extra weight of the blower is great traction in the snow and being 7 feet wide it cuts a path wider than the dexta. It will blow light fluffy snow about 40 feet away and it will cut a path into ...

I finaly had the chance to look at the front end today and discovered Jack was right: possibly you have sheared one of the woodruff keys at the front spindle and steering arm? _________________ Jack It was really hard to tell because the key was sheared off and mashed inside to the point where it ma...

front tires out of alignment
About 3 days ago when I was plowing snow I noticed when I was backing up that something didnt feel right with the steering. The front tires were not parallel to each other. When I went into a forward gear, the tires somewhat straightend out. When I turn the steering wheel one tire is roughly where i...

snowblowers and lots of snow
I was wondering what size of snowblower to put on my dexta. I was looking at a 72" dual stage single auger blower. The guy said it works fine on any 30 to 40 hp tractor. Any thoughts?

Hydraulic Loader Cylinders
My Dexta has an Allied loader installed on it. The seals on the hydraulic lift cylinders are starting to go. Instead of rebuilding the cylinders I have the option of purchasing new more reliable cylinders that are the same price as the rebuild. The new cylinders are larger in diameter than the stock...

Thanks alot for the info guys, I checked a few things this morning and I have to completely agree that the white smoke is diesel. Before I just avoided breathing it but after some close inspection it is un-burnt diesel. I didn't realize that there is a primer at the shut off at the fuel tank. Mine h...

Hard to start after sitting
My dexta has a problem starting after sitting a while. It takes about 8 to 12 hours for it to have a hard time starting. When it has sat I always have to bring my truck over and boost it because it takes a long time of turning it over for it to finaly start. Even when I use the pre heater it takes a...
