My 1954 seems to be quite worn. Strange that the grease nipple doesnt have a corresponding hole on the inside. I need to know what...

Re: Strange fuel problem
Is the carb bowl still full ? sometimes the glass bowl doesn't fill until the air can move out through the carb.
run some fuel out of the carb drain and see if the glass fills then.

You can alter the timing a little by playing with the points gap , wider advances , tighter retards .

If it does start to leak again could you use a long bolt with a nut inside ? I guess it would mean taking the hyd. top off to see.

Re: Fordson e27n Engine conversions.
The Power Major ( http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3094 ) is the same engine/GB fitting as the 2700 , hence all the Majors with D series/Cargo engines in ,but neither match the E27N . With the power major engine I had the advantage of the cast sump and even then while the...

Re: New owner E27N starting problem
With my carb I haven't found it fussy ,( unlike the earlier type carb on my standard N ) between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 should run ok initially , then once it keeps going you can slowly adjust for best running , definitely sounds like the flow from the tank doesn't it ? You should be off for a drive this w...

Re: New owner E27N starting problem
Hi , I think the problem is carb related , possibly not flowing enough fuel ( they do use quite a bit ! ) if the flow is to slow it would run then stop and once the carb refilled it would start again . There are only two commonly used carbs this link shows a photo of the later one ( most common on E...

Re: Fordson e27n Engine conversions.
The E27N / Major just used the complete front from the major , I've just looked at the Australian ( I think ) Ford turbo E27N , the Gardner engine E27N and the Leyland one and all use the original front axle , the first 2 are on youtube if you want to look,
just put E27N ( fairly obviously ! )

The starter will only spin one way wether neg. or pos. earth . All alternators are negative earth . The tractor would
originally have been positive earth with a dynamo . Hope that helps .
