Re: Fordson F Wheels Wanted

You say that. The ones with the very small holes and the square wheel weights do look exactly like the dexta wheels and the fergi ones should be full discs not have the small cut outs. The other ones are defo fergi. I have one. The fordson f wheels are very different to these too. The do not have ty...

Re: Fordson F Wheels Wanted

The ones with the cut outs definitely are. They made them with and without the wheel weight holes. I also think the non cut outs are for a fergi too. These came in later on from ferguson. They realised that the wheels with the cuts outs held the mud on the wheel so the cut outs were replaced with a ...

There should be plenty over your side of the pond, try source some over here
I think that is why there is the saying that you need at least 2 fordsons to make one good one. Might be worth contacting some of the F guru's on smok stak as they have 100's of parts.

Re: Fordson F Fender Color

yes unless its an N they should be grey. No other colour was used unless the dealer painted it. I have a red fordson from France but expect it was assembled by the dealer rather then factory which allowed them choose the paint colour.

Re: Fan(flat) Belt Pulley Removal

I would not worry too much about it. If you cannot see any cracks it will be fine. Its not a race engine and will not be going over 1000rpm. Id be more inclined to make sure the bearings are ok and there is no chunks missing from them. Treating it like a higher revving engine will cost you a lot of ...

Re: Fan(flat) Belt Pulley Removal

If you have an F its best to say as they need the cotter pin removed from the bottom of the pin usually hidden under crud rather then a pulley remover as in the picture. If you cant get to it drill the head off the pin and punch it down and out.

Re: Fordson F Fender Color

Should be grey like the rest of the tractor but people can paint them any colour much like we do our cars.

Are they actually F model wings or N model?

Re: How Many Quarts/Liters of Oil in Model F Engine

Manual says 2 1/4 gallons so I only went by that. Mine is yet to receive any oil but at least 10 litres came out.

To be honest I would use the pet cocks to level the oil when I come to doing it.

Re: How Many Quarts/Liters of Oil in Model F Engine

I think around 10.2 litres.
It was a fair amount that came out.

Not sure on weight. A heavy oil is recommended.

Stripping 1925 Fordson Model F

I am going to be stripping and selling one of my 1925 Fordson Model F's so most parts will be for sale. I have come to the conclusion I do not need 3 tractors and tons of parts especially when I only really have space for one of them! If anyone is after any specific parts please let me know. A...

Re: 1922 Fordson F zen earthed in so./cent. Texas. . .

I have used Fordson house before. I had to use them again because I did not know about rosewood. I have not had a good experience with fordsonhouse so could not recommend them to anyone unless they were desperate for parts! First order I spent an absolute fortune. Complete steering, front axle setup...

Re: 1922 Fordson F zen earthed in so./cent. Texas. . .

You should be able to find some pistons but the problem would be finding a set with good bearings.

I wonder if its worth begging and asking nicely if there is any chance the previous owner may still have them in a shed somewhere to help restore it
