My 1964 super also has a plate fitted (location Ireland)
any idea why - if it was only supposed to be on earlier models?

Re: Super Dexta with continental mudguards
I had a look on the Internet and found a coupe of super dextas with similar mudguards albeit in blue. The first is a Super dexta - just the badge is obscured when I resized the photo What you will notice though is a sheet metal piece 'connecting' the footplate to the mudguard (red arrow). You can se...

Re: Super Dexta with continental mudguards
i'll have a look - don't think thefe is a 'd' in it though. Is it 'D' for 'Deutschland'? Mine is a Super Dexta. Was there ever a 'special' using the Super Dexta or were the specials only built on the Dexta only? Any chance I could get a full scan of the German manual - per PM or such like? I speak G...

Re: Super Dexta with continental mudguards
I replaced the pictures in the first post with better ones. The tractor does NOT have the master cylinder You can now see the lip and that they cover the wheel completely. I note Brian's pictures of the industrial Dexta. On mine you can see that the front edge of the guards slope up when viewed form...

Re: Super Dexta with continental mudguards
No, the do not attach to the footplates They are squarer and wider than the normal ones. Maybe the picture does not show it that well Also if you notice in picture two that unlike the normal ones, there is a ca two inch lip on the edge The normal ones have no lip Also the mudguard cover the whole ty...

Super Dexta with continental mudguards
Hi, I have a Super Dexta with continental mudguards - they are white and square in appearance Year 1964 The tractor is located in Ireland and as far as I am aware was bought from new here in the 1960s Do the mudguards make it rare? Due to the mudguards, is it worth more than other Dextas of similar ...

Re: Super Dexta Positive earth?
Thanks.
The head gasket was blown as well.
That is changed now
However, I thought I was spinning the starter wrong.
I will wire it up now and try it out

Super Dexta Positive earth?
HI, I have a Super Dexta. By coincidence I looked at the wiring diagram in the manual, which I downloaded from Stefan ? German site some time ago. It shows the wiring as positive earth. Some time ago, I had it wired as negative earth to try and get it started, which it did NOT - nothing else was wir...

Re: E1A Engines fitted to majors
Thanks for the reply.
I did not understand all of it yet.
I will print it out and consider the various points you make whilst physically looking at the engine
Is the auto advance part of the pump or the governor?

Re: E1A Engines fitted to majors
I am the original poster and I am coming back to this thread albeit a year and half (ish) later - hope that is ok. Today, I returned to looking at the ford 592E industrial engine and as noted from the previous poster's post, it has indeed a GM governor fitted It is stamped GMVA 750900 AS1 So, from r...

Re: E1A Engines fitted to majors
That is not a 1966 engine, I would think it is an earlier version that has been fitted with a new block if you have a 1966 date code. The engine was available from Ebro after 1964 as a replacement unit but I do not think it is one of those. By 1966 the industrial engines would have been the 2700 se...

Re: E1A Engines fitted to majors
Howdy Ya got my interest. What is the location of the engine? How much do you want for it? Thanks brownsmule I am afraid, judging from your address that I am on the other side of the Atlantic from you in Europe . Of course if you want to pay for shipping... :D Nice find. The Tractors did have the d...

E1A Engines/592E indust engine - governor and differences
Hi does anyone have an idea of the approx value of the E1A engine (E1ADDN), which was fitted to the Fordson majors? I think the were at least fitted to the Super and power majors. Maybe earlier? I have one in very good condition. Mine was built in 1966 - date stamp on block. It is the industrial var...
