Re: Dexta two stage clutch
I have attempted to rebuild a number of worn dual clutches, without success. If there is a lot of play in the pivot pins for the fingers I found that fitting new friction discs resulted in the clutch becoming inoperative, due to insufficient travel of the the thee fingers. I have even re-bushed the ...

Providing that the oil level is correct, it could be that the suction filter is dirty, to inspect it you have to lift the top cover off.

Re: Dexta injectors.
Bob/Mervyn,
I'm pleased to hear that the injector arrived safely and is working fine. I posted it from our local Post Office using Royal Mail, I'm not sure if it was the cheapest but, most convenient.
Mervyn what ever you decide, the injectors are here waiting for you.
Take care.

Whilst you have the top cover off, check the pin which contacts the cam on the "Arm Ram to Cylinder" Item 49 Fig 10 in the parts manual. If it is worn, or possibly worn completely away. it needs to be replaced.

Re: Dexta throttle linkage broke
Quality Tractor Parts stock a variety of throttle linkages similar to what you require. Unfortunately they are wholesale only so you have to find a dealer who stocks or can obtain parts from them. Their catalogues can be viewed on their Website at https://www.qtponline.com/en/catalogues.html. Gerald

Mervyn/Bob,
I have a set of three for Mervyn, should he need them and one for Bob. I will test them to make sure that they are sound before I dispatch them. They weigh approximately 500gms each.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Mervyn, I haven't retired, it's just that I don't log in to this site as often as I use to. Bob I will see how many injectors I have and see if I can spare one for you. I will get back to you in due course. Normally if there is leakage from the cap it is due to the mating faces being damaged, bot...

It is quite possible that the copper washer has hardened with age. Heat the washer until it is red hot and quench it in water, this will anneal the copper and make it softer.

Re: HELP! Dexta Stuck In Reverse
In all probability the gear stick has slipped out of the selector, due to wear on the end of the stick. If you remove the four set screws which hold the gearshift cover to the gear box and lift the cover away you can access the gearshift selectors. Facing the front of the tractor and looking down, t...

CRANKSHAFTS
A number of parts suppliers are advertising replacement crankshafts for the Dexta engines. cheaper than the cost of a regrind. However as the replacements are not supplied with counterweights presumably the intention is that the weights from the original crankshaft are meant to be fitted. This raise...

Sam,
I have found a filter assembly minus the bowl (The bowl from the filter which you have should fit), plus the other bits that you require. You are welcome to them, if you are prepared to pay the postage PM me.

Sam, From the photo and words at the bottom of your post, I assumed that you had a Super Dexta with a mechanical governor. If your engine is pneumatically governed, the components which you have shown are mounted on the air cleaner. The spindle item 10 passes through the air cleaner bracket. Gerald

Sam,
Item 9, throttle rod clips are available on the web. Items 10 to 17 are mounted on the bulkhead assembly on a Super Dexta. The arrangement that you have shown is for a pneumatically governed Dexta. Do you have the correct bulkhead?

If you look at the back of the panel below the fuel tank, there are two bolts which secure the panel to the fuel tank support. Remove the bolts and pull the panel away, you may have to disconnect the tachometer drive cable and be careful not to strain the wiring.

Dinas Cross is approximately 20 kilometres from my home in Pembrokeshire (Wales), and I have a friend who lives in the village. I will try to find out if he knew of David however, without a surname it will be almost impossible to identify him.

Re: Thrust washer on lift cross-shaft.
Hi Mervyn, I have found an assembly complete with the washer, it is just a plain steel washer which possibly is special because it is thicker than a standard washer. I didn't check to see if it is hardened. Whilst searching for the washer, I found a bush for the cross shaft which I measured as appro...

Re: Thrust washer on lift cross-shaft.
Mervyn, I wouldn't get too carried away with the nitty gritty, obviously Ford considered that a special washer was required. However, the requirement has been lost in time, and Brian hasn't shed any light on it. I can't find ay reference to an 'O' ring in the parts book and I do not remember seeing ...

Gaskets are available on E-bay and from various firms dealing in tractor spares.
On a personal note, I fail to see why a gasket is required if all the 'O' rings are in good condition. I wait to stand corrected.

Your chisel is pointing to the pawl assembly. The sector or ratchet bolts onto the axle casing.
Yes the pawl assembly should be free to turn, I suggest that you apply some heat to the end of the lever to try and fee it off.

Re: Lift Crosshaft Bushes
I would be wary of dimensions qouted by Agriline, I ordered Dexta brake shaft bushes from them, which I returned as they were incorrect. They now advertise a bush which fits both the Dexta brake and clutch shafts, these shafts have different diameters. I am almost certain that the lift arm cross sha...
