Re: Advice needed - Dodgy Linkage
Mike the lift arms are supposed to have bushes fitted in them. I ordered mine from my local NH dealer and they were quite expensive at £9.63 each so it was a total of £38.52 plus the dreaded V.A.T. The NH part number for them is NH81718786.

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Thanks a lot Mike. Glad I can be of help. The grommets I purchased 5 of them from ukplasticparts on e-bay and cost £1.65 total with free postage. The conduit is plastic corrugated and unsplit. I purchased from workshop_supplies on e-bay at a cost of £10.25 for 10 metres and free postage. They do a w...

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Mervyn it was no problem getting the pictures sorted once I knew what I was doing using the advice Mathias had given. Hopefully the posts and pictures will help some fellow members when they are restoring their tractors. Im hoping the shrink sleeving will keep any gremlins out. My P clips have arriv...

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Thanks for the comments guys. Ive been busy getting all the wiring sorted out. Ive soldered in new wires for the headlamps and fitted corrugated conduit over all the wires and shrink sleeving at the ends to hopefully keep water etc out. Have done the same with the horn wires as they were on the new ...

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Its been a little while folks but Ive finally managed to make a start to fitting the new wiring loom. First of all I set it out on the bench to check all the wire colours and matched it up to the wiring diagram. Got it all set in to the engine bay and started from the front. Seems easy enough and st...

Very sorry to hear of the closure of the site. It has been an invaluable source of information and help to me during my restoration and there is no doubt that without all that my restoration would have taken a lot longer. I enjoy going on to the site daily to check for new posts an information and t...

Repainted fuel tank, top dash panel and steering wheel refitted. https://s19.postimg.cc/afm8u33tb/DSC01993.jpg I had noticed a small coolant leak so it made sense to investigate it whilst the radiator cover was off. I was keeping my fingers crossed that it wasnt my new radiator that had sprung a sma...

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Thanks Mervyn but I dont know about being a pro lol. It does make a big differnce having the workshop now to do my work in instead of the garage at the house. The good lady was always complaining about the paint fumes when I was spraying. At the moment I just cover everything up with tarpaulins befo...

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Well thats the bonnet, radiator cover, fuel tank and headlamps all repainted again. The paint went on fantastic once I had the temperature up in the workshop and no runs either so well chuffed with the end result. Now it will all get at least 4 weeks for the paint to set properly before refitting. :D ...

Re: 1958 Dexta Restoration
Mervyn, Ive masked off the front part of the diesel tank and also the inside of the bonnet as I dont need to paint these. The inside of the bonnet has already been painted with the same paint and even if it is a slightly different shade it will never be seen. Dont see the point of using any more pai...

Re: Super Dexta Fuel Pump Drain Plug keeps leaking.
Glad to hear you have managed to stop your leak on your fuel pump Mervyn. Sometimes it just takes a slight step back and look at things in another perspective. I learned a long time ago when fault finding to always look at the simple things first. Well done.

Many thanks Mervyn. All going well it should be completed next time home. Im hoping to get the tank, bonnet and radiator cover painted in the next few days before I head back to Angola and that will give the paint plenty of time to set before refitting next time home and then just the wiring to do. ...

Managed to get one new tyre and tube fitted and refitted the centre disc to one rear wheel today. Im waiting on a new 1" drill bit to arrive so as I can drill out the wheel weight fitting holes to the right size on the new centre disc that was purchased from Agriline. The disc arrived with no holes ...

Well couldnt wait to get up to the workshop and get my rims painted. Just arrived home yesterday so ventured up this morning. All nicely painted and no runs. Great what a bit of heat in the workshop does. New tyres and tubes have arrived as well so going to give the paint a week to harden off proper...

Thanks Mervyn and Bob. Im sure with a few tweaks I should have it set up properly. I was getting very little wheel slip even with my bald tyres Bob. Had the plough out for a play this afternoon. Well happy with how it performed but the heavens opened so stopped play lol. https://s19.postimg.cc/unp4iehov/DSC01948.jpg Not quite match material and thought not bad for a start after 20 years absent from ploughing. A little bit of adjustment to even u...
