The tipping pipe is connected at the bottom right

Its just the standard PM valve DD with the lift lever in the quadrant, no other knobs or levers.

I'll try and get a photo later on.

I have a tipping pipe on my Power Major which I have never used and was just wondering what activates it? Is it pressurised when the PTO is engaged, or when the lift arms raise or what???

The gauges actually mount into a removable 'Dash panel' affair that sits on top of the tank with the cables running down a larger than normal steering hole through the tank.

The dash looks like this....

Just wondering how easy the kingpin bushes & bearings are to change? I have a significant amount of spindle wobble and very heavy steering.

Is it just me or does that look to be perched on those wood blocks quite precariously?

Good to hear! I got my 59PM home from having a replacement clutch fitted the other week. The guy who did the clutch also freed off the drop arms at the back, I think he used Oxy acetylene and sledgehammers but they are working fine now. Let me know if you find a cheap source for the gauges will you?...

If the headlights mount mid way up the nose as on the ebay picture, what are the holes in the top of the nose for?

Don't know if this will help or hinder, but this is the face of a scrap tacho that came with the PM last year.



I don't even know if it belonged to a power major originally.

I know DD, but the grills were homemade and, I don't know, I just preferred the look of orange.

Just wondered if anyone has any of the parts circled in red gathering dust anywhere in the back of the shed?

Hi Adrian, don't be too envious, the trailer was just on loan from a friend. Believe me when I say that the Navara certainly knew when the tractor was on the trailer but fortunately we only had to do about six miles (half of that down windy country lanes) and there were no big hills :D Pulling just ...

Just been to pick up 'Lily' the 59 Power Major from our friendly local spannerman!!

One replacement clutch and a few seals later shes as good as.... well, not quite new

Just looking at the photo above. Should the 1964 Super Major engine have a decompressor lever? I thought that was only on earlier engines.
