Power Major sidelight wiring and routing
Hi, Is anyone out there that can advise on how the power major sidelight wiring is routed and secured from the bullet connector behind the dash to the rear wings. My wings have been replaced and are not original as are the sidelights. The vulnerable area is were the wire crosses over the gearbox and...

Re: regulator position
Okay, unfortunately the Agriline photo doesn't show the brackets. But I get the general idea of where the regulator should mount. I don't feel like buying the correct filter body, so will make up my own fittings. Mayhill tractors have a picture of a filter which shows more of the bracket but it sugg...

Re: regulator position
Thanks Billy, it's becoming clearer. My air filter body does not have a wrap around bracket welded on as seen in this picture. https://agrilineproducts.com/oil-bath-assembly-6133a I think it must have been replaced with a later super major item. What do you think, does the picture show the correct a...

Re: regulator position
Sorry guys I misled you with my tractors age, it's more likely to be a 1960 model. My confusion is because the engine has been replaced and its number is not listed in the manufactures yearly data. It starts with an 'S'. I'm guessing its age from the various casting codes. So that said, and the fact...

regulator position
Hi, could someone please upload some pictures of a regulator and starter-solenoid in their original factory installed positions. I'm doing a rebuild and cannot find a place where on or near the battery tray they would bolt to. I don't want to start drilling new holes or making brackets. I want to ke...

Re: power major aux hydraulics modifications
After some years of using my modified plate, with the intention of improving it with an integral spool valve and never getting around to it. I've decided to post the drawing warts and all for anyone to make a plate for themselves. Good luck with it. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/545/majorhydc...

Re: power major aux hydraulics modifications
Mike I read your post with interest, A commercially made block is inserted between the housing and the cover plate it incorporates a spool with the handle along side of the existing lift arm handle It sounds like someone down-under had the same idea before me, is it still available?. I would be inte...

Re: power major aux hydraulics modifications
John.n I've been thinking about your post asking about getting some made and selling them. At the moment I'm trying it out to see if any problems occur, plus I would rather improve the design to include a return and allow it to be a stand alone box (something like the original) with a 1/2" push conn...

Re: Automatic Pick-up hitch
Hi, I know it's some time since your post regarding the PU hitch for sale. But is it still available? if it is can I see a picture and do you know if it might fit a Fordson major.

The feed goes to the spool valve (see picture) and the return out of the valve around the back and into the top...

power major aux hydraulics modifications
Hi this is really a post following my original one in Jan 2009. At the time I was hoping someone might suggest an after-market design for an hydraulics circuit independent of the lift arms for my power major. I see Mike Kuscher in his post of Apr 2009 has the same problem. After some thought I desig...

Thanks Brian, no I didn’t realise the pulley is two speed, I’ll remember that when I run the saw bench next time. So it’s back to the drawing board. The extra lever and valve chest that bolt to the existing one seems my best option. Although I expect they are rarer than hens teeth. Thanks again Look...

Thanks Brian, I thought the lift assembly swap might be a long shot but as a free SM assembly came into my hands I reckoned it worthwhile to ask. Your suggestion of adding a another pump had crossed my mind, I saw one on the Grani post dated 08/05/08, but would prefer to mount it amidships in place ...

power major hydraulics
Hi - can anyone tell me if a super major hydraulic lift assembly can be fitted in place of the original assembly on a power major. I want to take advantage of the later design which (if I'm correct) will allow me to operate hydraulic implements independently from the lift arms. I particularly want t...
