I would just stump up 9 quid (A$20) to Agrilne for a new one. Delivered to Australia in a week.

Re: Renovating Selene Super Major -61
Hi Guduell The engine in your tractor is the pre-minimec where as your truck engine is the later type. This truck engine will be identical to the NPM engine except for: Engine plate Brake vacuum pump (if fitted) Injector pump calibration and delivery valves. Fuel lift pump will be most likely mounte...

Re: Which inlet manafold is best to use on 590E?
The standard inlet manifold is a little to tall. The inlet manifold on the County Super 6 has a simple modification. I can post a picture tomorrow comparing the two. The early engines with pneumatic governors and a butterfly throttle cannot be modified so really you need a Minimec equipped engine. T...

Re: thames steering
Hello I have a truck question, I have a few different 590E engines, ( dead and alive ) and the latest date one 5 A 8 is obviously out of a 1965 K series truck. This engine however has an engine number prefixed with 660E. As you obviously have the K series truck how does this compare with yours? My ...

Should I just remove and put a blanking plate or keep on for pumping up tyres or is it possible to put a power steering pump in its place any advice appreciated. Y...

Re: Water in one cylinder
There is a bolt that is easy to miss at the front of the engine that requires a long extension. It is just behind the crank pulley in a tunnel. Also there are two bolts around the bell housing that are easy to miss up around the side rails. They are in the opposite direction to all the other bolts, ...

OK so I kinda lost track of where I left of, so I'll try to just hit a few things. We got it back together and running with a fresh rebuilt injection pump I had stumbled across real cheap, I didn't realize how good of a deal I got until I opened up the old one and saw how bad it was. the first thin...

Re: 590E engine rebuild
I am currently rebuilding two 590E engines. One for my Super 6 sand one for a truck. Late Super Major injectors are the same as late 590E applications. You can get the nozzles from Agriline. Cam bearings are available here in Australia ACl Part no 7C5757 Specs http://catalog.acl.com.au/ACLWebCatalog...

Re: D series 4 cylinder
Thanks again. I presume the old block and the D series are the same length, is there a longer stroke or wider bore on the D series? I suppose what I'm asking is where did the extra power (18hp?) come from? It seems a bit easier to get a 4 cylinder D series engine from a generator etc than a good us...

Engine runs smoothly with that cracked block!! What would have caused such a nasty crack...? :scratchhead: Hi I take it you saw the nasty crack around the fly wheel housing in the first lot of pics? It has since closed up. The cause of the crack is heavy shock to the tractor caused by that m...

Some more snaps whilst unloading. Engine ran smoothly but the power steering is about as effective as an ashtray on a motorbike. To hot here today. Other things to do and then I will start stripping her down. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p158/stevbrkr/DSC_1987_zps8d38d354.jpg http://i127.photo...

Re: New Project, The Holy Grail, County Super 6
Well I got it home. I paid to have it hauled out of the mountains to a depot and picked it up there as it saved me a day. It took the best part of three days to do the 2000km round trip plus loading as you could not drive it onto the truck. 11 hour to Somersby in NSW empty but is was a slow trip hom...

I took some pics for you. Sorry about the quality, taken with an iPhone in my shed. Here is the early version. See the pad in front of the fuel lift pump aperture. Re: Fordson major Thames trader 6d
That engine had a vacuum governor pump. The pump in the pic is s Simms Minimec. The Minimec will not fit early engines. If that engine was made in 1961 there is a chance it will fit as the castings were modified about a year before the change over. I have a 1961 engine that will take a Minimec pump....

After more than 2 years I will revive this thraed. By chance I found an afordable 6 Zylinder engine in nearby Belgium 8). I thought it should be a 590E, but it looks like beeing a 1957 510E, coming of a Clayson harvester. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y383/county654/IMAG0331_zpsqcyodhos.jpg H...

It will be a torn Govoner Diaphram. It is a simple fix. If not that then one of your govoner pipes may be leaking but most likely the diaphram.
